Overview
Registered in 2005 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Squash Casserole', 'Yesterday's Memories' is a large, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with wide, heavily rippled, dark green margins. The leaf surface is dull above with a glaucous bloom beneath, and a notable third green color streaks into the leaf blade from the margin.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a mound-like clump reaching 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height and 48 inches (121.9 cm) in diameter, with scapes rising 35 to 39 inches (88.9 to 99.1 cm). It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, and its substantial size makes it suitable as a specimen or in the middle to back of shaded borders. Companion plants include ferns, *Heuchera*, and other shade-tolerant perennials that contrast with its broad, wavy leaves.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods, especially in the first growing season. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most large-leaved hostas, it is susceptible to slug damage and may require management in damp conditions.
