Overview
Registered in 2013 by M. Gilligan, 'Woodland Lime' is a large hosta cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its nearly round, blue-green leaves with pale whitish lime, slightly rippled margins and a twisted tip, combined with white leaf undersides.
In the Garden
'Woodland Lime' forms an upright clump reaching 22 inches (55.9 cm) in height and 25 inches (63.5 cm) in diameter, with a slow growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its glaucous leaf bloom and pale margin contrast are most pronounced. The plant's substantial size and rounded leaf shape make it suitable as a specimen or in mixed shade borders alongside ferns, heucheras, and other hostas.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods, especially in the first growing season. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release formula. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed.
