Overview
Registered in 1995, *Hosta* 'White Dove' is a selfed seedling of *Hosta* 'Beatrice'. It is a miniature cultivar distinguished by its medium green leaves with pure white, slightly rippled margins, forming a compact, fast-growing mound.
In the Garden
'White Dove' reaches a mature size of approximately 7 inches (17.8 cm) in height and 11 inches (27.9 cm) in diameter, making it well suited for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of a shaded border. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs effectively with other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Carex*. Its miniature stature also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through routine monitoring or protective measures.
