Overview

Registered in 2009 by K. Walek of the American Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'Warwick Curtsey' is a small-sized cultivar resulting from a cross between *H. 'Dorothy Benedict'* and *H. nakaiana*. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves with irregular golden yellow margins, a glaucous bloom on the leaf undersides, and a compact, mound-like habit.

In the Garden

'Warwick Curtsey' reaches a mature diameter of 37 inches (94.0 cm) and a height of 15 inches (38.1 cm), forming a dense, rounded mound. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones and performs well in rock gardens, container plantings, or as a front-of-border specimen. Its small size and blue-green foliage with gold margins pair effectively with other small hostas, ferns, or shade-tolerant perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor regularly and apply controls as needed in susceptible gardens.
