Overview
Registered in 2016, *Hosta* 'Vinnie' is a small, slow-growing variegated cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H.* 'Reptilian' as the pod parent. Its most distinctive features are lance-shaped, lightly cupped, and wavy leaves with medium green, slightly rippled margins and a glossy surface.
In the Garden
*Hosta* 'Vinnie' reaches a mature diameter of 16 inches (40.6 cm) and a height of 7 inches (17.8 cm), with upright foliage. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones, performing well in rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. Its compact size makes it an excellent companion for small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas, and it is well suited to container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season; apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protection from slugs and deer may be necessary, particularly on the tender new foliage.
