Overview
Registered in 2006, *Hosta* 'Vina' is a miniature cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinguished by its small, broadly ovate leaves with green centers and greenish-yellow flat margins, combined with a fast growth rate that produces a compact, mound-like habit.
In the Garden
'Hina' performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, where it reaches a mature diameter of approximately 12.4 inches (31.5 cm) and a height of 7.2 inches (18.3 cm). Its miniature size makes it well suited for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders, where it can be paired with small ferns, heucheras, or other diminutive perennials. It is also an excellent candidate for container cultivation due to its compact proportions and rapid growth.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While 'Vina' is not notably resistant, standard slug and deer deterrents may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
