Overview

Registered in 1986 by P. Aden, this miniature hosta arose from an unknown pod parent crossed with *H. 'Little Aurora' as the pollen parent. It is distinguished by its small, variegated leaves with light lemon green margins surrounding a lighter center, and by its reddish scapes.

In the Garden

Mature plants reach approximately 8 inches (20.3 cm) in diameter and 3 inches (7.6 cm) in height, with individual leaves measuring 2 inches (5.1 cm) long and 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) wide. As a miniature cultivar, it is well suited to troughs, rock gardens, or the front of a shaded border. It performs best in partial to full shade and combines well with other small perennials such as dwarf ferns or miniature sedges.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage the foliage, so monitoring and appropriate controls are recommended in gardens where these pests are prevalent.
