Overview
Registered in 2005, *Hosta* 'Tunisian Dream' is a large cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H.* 'Azure Snow' as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its heavily rippled, serrated leaf margins and a blue-green leaf surface that is slightly shiny above and dull beneath, with a notable white underside.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a mound-like clump reaching 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height. It is best suited to partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and performs well in moist, well-drained soil. Its large, textured leaves make it an effective specimen or accent plant in shaded borders, and it pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage the foliage, so monitoring and appropriate control measures are recommended in areas where these pests are prevalent.
