Registered in 2005 by P. & J. Ruh, 'Trafalgar Square' is a small-sized hosta cultivar of unknown parentage. Its distinctive appearance derives from dark green, slightly rippled leaves with a slight gloss on both surfaces, forming a dense, mound-like habit.

In the Garden

This compact hosta reaches 13.5 inches (34.3 cm) in height and 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for the genus, and its small stature makes it suitable for rock gardens, front-of-border positions, or container cultivation. The dense foliage and late flowering period extend seasonal interest into late summer.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in dry spells, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings.
