Overview

Registered in 2000, *Hosta* 'Titanium' is a small-sized cultivar derived from a cross between *H. 'Urajiro Hachijo'* (pod parent) and *H. 'Blue Clown'* (pollen parent). It is visually distinctive for its intensely blue-green, heavily rippled leaf margins and prominent glaucous bloom on both leaf surfaces.

In the Garden

'Titanium' forms a compact, moderate-growing mound reaching 9 inches (22.9 cm) in height and 34 inches (86.4 cm) in diameter. Its small stature and rounded, heavily textured leaves make it suitable for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It pairs well with fine-textured shade perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera* species. Like most hostas, it performs best in partial to full shade with consistent moisture.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. 'Titanium' is subject to slug and deer damage, as are most hostas; protective measures may be required in areas where these pests are prevalent.
