Overview
Registered in 2002 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Sally and Bob', 'Terry' is a large, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its nearly round, deeply corrugated leaves with a very shiny green center and wide, flat white margins. The petioles bear white stripes along their edges, and the scape is bicolored green and white.
In the Garden
'Terry' forms an upright clump reaching 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height and 26 inches (66.0 cm) in diameter, with leaves up to 12 inches (30.5 cm) long and 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) wide. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its corrugated foliage and strong variegation are most pronounced. The large size and fast growth rate make it suitable as a specimen or in mixed shade borders; it pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods to maintain consistent soil moisture, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Terry' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, particularly on the tender new leaves.
