Registered in 2009 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Lakeside Beach Captain', 'Surf's Up' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaf centers framed by golden yellow, flat margins. The leaves bear a glaucous bloom on both surfaces and are lightly corrugated, with an ovate shape and cordate base.

Reaching 18 inches (45.7 cm) in height and 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter, 'Surf's Up' forms a slow-growing, mound-like clump suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its blue-green and gold variegation pairs well with ferns, heucheras, or other shade perennials that complement its cool tones. The plant's medium size makes it appropriate for border fronts, woodland gardens, or shaded containers.

Care Notes
