Overview
Registered in 2004 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Striptease', this medium-sized cultivar is visually defined by its dark green leaf margins and a variable yellow stripe that irregularly separates the green border from the pure white leaf center. The leaf surface is elliptic with a rounded base, flat margins, and light corrugation, with nine vein pairs.
In the Garden
'Hosta 'Stripped Naked' forms a clump 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter and 20 inches (50.8 cm) tall, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the white center and yellow streaking remain most stable; excessive sun may scorch the white tissue. Its bold, tricolored foliage pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade perennials, and it is suitable for border fronts or woodland gardens.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain even moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage young foliage, so monitoring and protective measures are advisable in typical hosta-growing zones.
