Overview

Registered in 1985 by M. Zilis and T&Z Nursery, this medium-sized sport of *Hosta* 'Francee' is distinguished by its green leaves with white margins. The foliage measures 8 inches (20.3 cm) long and 5 inches (12.7 cm) wide, with nine pairs of veins, and displays a white margin against a dark green center.

In the Garden

Reaching 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 41 inches (104.1 cm) in diameter, this cultivar forms a substantial mound suitable for mid-border positions or as a groundcover in partial to full shade. Its white-margined leaves provide contrast when paired with dark-leaved perennials such as *Heuchera* or ferns, and it performs well in typical hosta-growing zones. The scape height is recorded as 32 inches (81.3 cm), though the upper measurement is given as zero, suggesting variable flowering height.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season to establish a deep root system. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges; slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through cultural practices or barriers.
