Overview

A 2011 sport of *Hosta* 'Royal Standard', 'Royal Charmer' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its clear white leaf margins that harmonize with pure white flowers. The ovate, slightly shiny leaves feature medium green centers with white streaking extending into the blade, creating a variegated effect on a fast-growing, mound-forming plant.

In the Garden

'Royal Charmer' forms a substantial mound 20.7 inches (52.6 cm) tall and 29.5 inches (74.9 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. Its fast growth rate and medium size allow it to serve as a groundcover or accent among ferns, *Heuchera*, and other shade perennials. The green scapes, reaching 20.4 to 27 inches (51.8 to 68.6 cm), carry the white flowers above the foliage.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Typical hosta-growing zones apply; slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed preventatively.
