Registered in 2008, *Hosta* 'Roughrider' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H.* 'Swoosh' as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its ovate, medium green leaves with creamy white margins that are slightly rippled, moderately folded, and moderately waxy, presenting a textured, wavy appearance.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a mound-like clump reaching approximately 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 22 inches (55.9 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or as a groundcover specimen. Its medium size and textured foliage make it a complementary companion to finer-textured perennials such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes
