Overview
Registered in 1983 by K. Hensen, this small hosta cultivar produces variegated leaves with green margins, a dull upper surface, and a glossy underside. The leaves reach 3 inches (7.6 cm) in length and 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) in width.
In the Garden
Suitable for partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas. At maturity, plants form a small clump approximately 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) tall and 12 to 18 inches (30 to 46 cm) wide. Its compact size makes it appropriate for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders, and it pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or woodland groundcovers.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season; apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage, so monitoring and appropriate control measures are recommended in areas where these pests are prevalent.
