Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Wylde Green Cream' registered in 2005, 'Pistachio Cream' is a small, mound-forming cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with medium green, flat margins. The broadly ovate, moderately cupped leaves bear a thin glaucous bloom on the underside and exhibit light waviness and moderate corrugation, with 10 to 12 pairs of veins.

In the Garden

Reaching 13 inches (33.0 cm) in height and 28 inches (71.1 cm) in diameter at maturity, this moderate-growing hosta forms a dense, compact mound suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as edging. It thrives in partial to full shade, as is typical for blue-leaved cultivars, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other small woodland perennials. Its small stature also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
