Overview

Registered in 1988 by P. Balletta, *Hosta* 'Pamela San Martin' is a miniature sport of *Hosta* 'Little Aurora'. It is visually distinctive for its small, ovate leaves with pure white margins that transition to golden yellow-green toward the center, and for its low, compact habit.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a dense clump reaching approximately 7 inches (17.8 cm) in diameter and 4 inches (10.2 cm) in height, making it suitable for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of a shaded border. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs well with other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or miniature ferns. Its diminutive size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate barriers or repellents.
