Overview

Registered in 2004, 'Ozark Welcome' is a medium-sized sport of a yellow-green sport of *Hosta* 'Fascination', distinguished by its green leaves with gold margins. This cultivar forms a mound-like clump 18 inches (45.7 cm) tall and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, with broadly ovate, moderately corrugated leaves that are dull on both surfaces.

In the Garden

'Ozark Welcome' performs best in partial to full shade, where its gold-margined foliage remains most vibrant. At maturity, it reaches 18 inches in height and spreads to 24 inches, making it suitable for mid-border positions or as a groundcover in shaded beds. It pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials; its moderate growth rate allows it to fill space without overwhelming neighbors.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season to establish roots. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor foliage for signs of feeding and take protective measures as needed.
