Overview

Registered in 1986 by P. Aden as a sport of an unknown parent, *Hosta* 'On Stage' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its green leaves with white margins. The leaf blade measures 10 inches (25.4 cm) long and 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide, with eight pairs of veins, and the margin is described as white-green.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a clump 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter and 14 inches (35.6 cm) tall, making it suitable for the middle of a shaded border or as a groundcover in partial to full shade. The white margins provide contrast against darker green foliage of ferns or other hostas. Its medium size also allows for use in larger containers, though it is not considered a miniature.

Care Notes

Grow in moist, well-drained soil in typical hosta-growing zones, with regular watering during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges; slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed as needed.
