Overview
Registered in 2009 by K. Walek of the American Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'O'Harra' is a miniature cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves edged in chartreuse to medium golden yellow margins, combined with a compact, mound-like habit.
In the Garden
Reaching 7 inches (17.8 cm) in height and 21 inches (53.3 cm) in diameter, 'O'Harra' forms a low, dense mound suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or troughs. Its miniature size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with other small perennials such as heucheras or ferns.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, it may be susceptible to slug damage and deer browsing in garden settings.
