Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Just So', registered in 2009 by K. Walek, 'Not So' is a small, semi-upright hosta distinguished by its blue-green leaves with golden yellow margins that transition to a dark green border. The leaves are broadly ovate with a rounded base, lightly corrugated, and exhibit a dull upper surface with a glaucous bloom beneath, bearing 9 to 10 vein pairs.

In the Garden

Reaching 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, 'Not So' is suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, or shade-tolerant perennials such as *Heuchera* and *Tiarella*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
