Overview
Registered in 1998 from unknown parentage, 'North Point' is a medium-sized hosta distinguished by its deeply blue-green leaves with slightly rippled margins and a glaucous bloom on the undersides. The cordate leaf base and slight upper sheen contribute to its refined appearance, while the mound-like habit supports a moderate growth rate.
In the Garden
'North Point' reaches 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, forming a compact mound suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in partial to full shade. Its blue-green foliage pairs well with golden or chartreuse companions such as *Hosta* 'Sum and Substance' or *Carex* varieties, and the 24- to 26-inch (61.0–66.0 cm) scapes carry pale lavender flowers in midsummer. This cultivar performs reliably in typical hosta-growing zones and can be used in woodland gardens or shaded container plantings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during dry periods and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'North Point' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; maintain clean garden debris and use barriers or repellents as needed.
