Overview
Registered in 2009 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Avocado', 'Mojito' is a large, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its highly glossy, medium green leaves with flat margins and a very shiny underside. The ovate leaves, measuring 10 inches (25.4 cm) long by 7 inches (17.8 cm) wide, feature 12 to 13 vein pairs and a moderately wavy texture, creating a uniform, reflective mound.
In the Garden
'Mojito' reaches a mature spread of 44 inches (111.8 cm) in diameter and a height of 20 inches (50.8 cm), forming a dense, mound-like clump. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade perennials. Its substantial size makes it suitable as a specimen or in mixed borders, though it is less suited to containers due to its large dimensions.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, which may damage the glossy foliage.
