Overview

Registered in 2013 as an open-pollinated seedling of *Hosta* 'Lemon Lime', 'Mighty Min' is a miniature hosta distinguished by its extremely small stature and variegated foliage. The leaves are medium green with flat margins, elliptic with a cordate base, and measure 1.75 inches (4.4 cm) long by 0.875 inches (2.2 cm) wide, bearing three to four vein pairs and a slightly shiny upper surface.

In the Garden

With a mature diameter of 11 inches (27.9 cm) and height of 3.5 inches (8.9 cm), 'Mighty Min' forms a compact, mound-like clump and exhibits a slow growth rate. Its small size makes it well suited for trough gardens, rockeries, or the front edge of a shaded border, where it pairs effectively with other miniature perennials such as *Sedum* or *Thymus*. The cultivar tolerates typical hosta-growing conditions of partial to full shade.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season; apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, though the plant's tough, sturdy growth offers some resilience.
