Overview
Registered in 2004, *Hosta* 'Michael T. Rozanski' is a giant cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *Hosta* 'King Tut' as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its upright, fast-growing habit and large, broadly ovate leaves that are slightly blue-green with a glaucous bloom, moderately flat and lightly cupped with slightly rippled margins.
In the Garden
This cultivar reaches a mature spread of 62 inches (157.5 cm) and a height of 33 inches (83.8 cm), making it suitable as a specimen or background plant in partial to full shade. Its upright form and substantial foliage pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Due to its giant size, it is not recommended for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. This cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage, requiring protection in areas where these pests are prevalent.
