Overview

Registered in 1997 by H. Klose, *Hosta* 'Livonia' is a small, fast-growing cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its upright habit and variegated foliage, featuring light green leaves with slightly rippled margins and a dull surface on both sides.

In the Garden

Reaching a mature size of 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter and 17 inches (43.2 cm) in height, 'Livonia' forms a compact, upright clump suitable for the front of shaded borders or rock gardens. Its small stature makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. It pairs well with other small hostas or shade-tolerant perennials such as ferns and heucheras in typical hosta-growing zones.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, particularly on the tender new leaves.
