Overview

Registered in 1988 by D. Stone and P. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Little Ann' is a miniature cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its upright, narrow leaves with yellow-green-white margins and a green center, forming a compact mound.

In the Garden

'Little Ann' reaches approximately 6 inches (15.2 cm) in height and 8 inches (20.3 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of a border, rock gardens, or trough plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs well with other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*. Its diminutive size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as with most hostas.
