Overview
Registered in 1994 by Mary Chastain of Lakeside Acres, this large hosta cultivar is distinguished by its blue-green leaves with broad, medium gold margins. The leaves exhibit a semi-upright habit, a slightly shiny upper surface, and a glaucous bloom on the underside, with a cordate leaf base.
In the Garden
Reaching a mature diameter of 34 inches (86.4 cm) and height of 24 inches (61.0 cm), this plant forms a substantial, semi-upright clump. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its gold-margined foliage provides contrast when paired with green or chartreuse companions such as ferns or *Heuchera*. The tall scapes, reaching 42 to 48 inches (106.7 to 121.9 cm), bear green flowers in summer.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are recommended for this large-leaved cultivar.
