Overview
Registered in 1998, this medium-sized hosta was developed from a cross between a Lakeside seedling and *Hosta* 'Lakeside Roy El'. It forms a dense, fast-growing mound and is visually distinguished by its blue-green leaves with broad, creamy white margins of approximately 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) in width.
In the Garden
'Lakeside Cupid's Cup' reaches a mature diameter of 42 inches (106.7 cm) and a height of 12 inches (30.5 cm), making it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. Its cordate, slightly shiny leaves pair well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. The plant's compact, mounded habit also suits container cultivation in shaded patio settings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer climates, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate barriers or deterrents in typical hosta-growing zones.
