Registered in 1999, this medium-sized hosta originated as a seedling selection from an unnamed parentage. Its visual distinction lies in the broad creamy white margins framing medium green leaf centers, creating a crisp, bicolored effect typical of the best marginata cultivars.

'Hosta 'Lakeside Beloved' reaches a mature clump size of approximately 18 inches (46 cm) in height and 30 inches (76 cm) in spread. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the white margins remain stable without scorching. The 8-inch (20.3 cm) long by 5-inch (12.7 cm) wide leaves with ten vein pairs provide substantial texture, making this cultivar suitable for mid-border positions or as a groundcover accent beneath deciduous trees. Companion plants such as ferns, *Heuchera*, or *Astilbe* complement its foliage pattern.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
