Overview
Registered in 2002 by P. Ruh, 'Ko Seto' is a large hosta of unknown parentage distinguished by its medium green leaves with heavily rippled white margins. The ovate, cordate-based leaves are flat to lightly cupped and folded, with nine prominent vein pairs and a slightly shiny upper surface.
In the Garden
Reaching 41 inches (104.1 cm) in diameter and 12.5 inches (31.8 cm) in height, this mound-forming cultivar is suitable for part shade to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its substantial size and white-margined foliage make it an effective specimen or accent plant in woodland borders and shade gardens, where it pairs well with ferns and other broad-leaved perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, 'Ko Seto' is susceptible to slug damage and deer browsing, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
