Registered in 2015 by R. Soucek and originated by E. Elslager, 'Jon Soucek' is a medium-sized hosta distinguished by its dark green leaves with light green, slightly rippled margins measuring 0.5 to 0.75 inches wide. The broadly ovate to nearly round leaves are lightly cupped and moderately corrugated, with a slightly shiny surface on both sides.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a mound-like clump reaching 18 inches in height and 48 inches in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and its variegated foliage provides contrast when paired with ferns, heucheras, or other shade perennials. The green scapes, reaching 40 to 46 inches in height, bear flowers that complement the foliage without dominating the display.
