Overview
Registered in 2012, *Hosta* 'Job' is a miniature cultivar derived from an unregistered seedling known as 'Theo's Blue' (pod parent) with an unknown pollen parent. It is visually distinctive for its narrow, lance-shaped blue-green leaves with wavy margins, a slightly shiny upper surface, and a glaucous bloom on the underside.
In the Garden
'Job' is best suited to partial shade, typical of most hostas, where its compact mound-like habit reaches a mature size of approximately 4 inches (10 cm) in height and 8–10 inches (20–25 cm) in width. Its miniature stature makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders, where it pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or creeping sedges. The plant is also well suited to container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor regularly and apply control measures as needed.
