Overview
Registered in 1987 by D. Stone and P. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Jo Jo' is a miniature cultivar of unknown parentage, distinguished by its medium green leaves with narrow, creamy white margins. The leaf blade measures 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) in length and 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) in width, with three vein pairs and a margin width of approximately 0.25 inches (0.6 cm).
In the Garden
'Jo Jo' forms a compact mound reaching 7 inches (17.8 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs well with other miniature hostas, small ferns, or woodland groundcovers. Its diminutive size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season; apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Jo Jo' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in typical hosta-growing zones.
