Overview
Registered in 2013, 'Jezebel' is a sport of *Hosta* 'Strip Tease' that produces a small mound of ovate, dull green leaves with yellow margins. Its most distinctive feature is a seasonal color reversal, in which the leaf center and margin gradually exchange hues as the growing season advances.
In the Garden
'Jezebel' reaches a mature size of approximately 5 inches (12.7 cm) in leaf length and 3 inches (7.6 cm) in width, forming a compact, moderate-growing mound. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical of most hostas, and is well suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings due to its small stature. Companion plants such as ferns, heucheras, or small woodland perennials complement its muted foliage tones.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during dry periods and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are recommended, as both pests may damage the foliage.
