Overview
Registered in 2011 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Con Te Partiro', 'Itty Blue' is a small, dense mound-forming cultivar distinguished by its solid blue-green leaves. Unlike its variegated parent, this sport displays uniform glaucous blue foliage with moderately wavy, narrowly ovate leaves and a rounded base.
In the Garden
'Itty Blue' reaches 8 inches (20.3 cm) in height and spreads to 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of shade borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade with consistent moisture. Its compact habit and blue coloration pair well with golden or chartreuse foliage plants such as *Heuchera* 'Citronelle' or *Carex* 'Everillo'.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, particularly during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Itty Blue' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
