Overview
Registered in 1996, this miniature hosta cultivar was hybridized from *Hosta* 'Rosanne' and *Hosta* 'Little White Lines'. It is visually distinctive for its narrow, lance-shaped green leaves with yellow-green, slightly rippled margins, forming a compact mound.
In the Garden
'Hummingbird Wings' reaches a mature spread of 18 inches (45.7 cm) and a height of 8 inches (20.3 cm), with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its small size makes it well suited for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. Companion plants might include small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain even moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage.
