Overview

Registered in 1995 by the Indianapolis Hosta Society, 'Hoosier Harmony' is a medium-sized sport of *Hosta* 'Royal Standard'. It is visually distinguished by its green leaves with gold margins, a very shiny upper and lower leaf surface, and a semi-upright growth habit.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a clump 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter and 18 inches (45.7 cm) tall, with a fast growth rate. It is suitable for typical hosta-growing zones in partial to full shade, where its gold-margined foliage provides contrast against darker-leaved perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*. Its medium size makes it appropriate for the middle of a border or as a groundcover in shaded areas.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. While 'Hoosier Harmony' is less susceptible to slug damage than many thin-leaved hostas, monitoring for slugs and deer is recommended in areas where these pests are prevalent.
