Overview

Registered in 2016 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Small World', 'Hoite Toite' is a miniature cultivar distinguished by its thick, ovate leaves with medium green centers and creamy white, slightly rippled margins. The leaf surface is dull on both sides, moderately cupped, twisted, folded, and wavy, with light corrugation overall.

In the Garden

This miniature hosta forms a compact mound 3 inches (7.6 cm) high and 7 inches (17.8 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical for hostas, and is well suited to rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. Its small size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation, where its muted yellow edge and dark green center can be appreciated at close range.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Hoite Toite' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
