Overview

Registered in 2013 as an open-pollinated seedling of *Hosta* 'On Stage', 'High Fidelity' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its upright, arching habit and lanceolate leaves with green centers and gold margins. The foliage is lightly wavy and corrugated, with a slightly shiny surface above and below, and the leaf margins are yellow and slightly rippled.

In the Garden

'High Fidelity' reaches approximately 16 inches (40.6 cm) in diameter and 28 inches (71.1 cm) in height at maturity, with scapes extending 36 to 42 inches (91.4 to 106.7 cm) above the foliage. It performs best in partial to dappled shade with consistent moisture, suiting mid-border positions or as a specimen in woodland gardens. Its tall, straight scapes and elegant long leaves make it a strong candidate for pairing with finer-textured perennials such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods to maintain leaf turgor and margin color; apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings typical of hosta-growing zones.
