Overview
Registered in 1998 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Grand Tiara', 'Heavenly Tiara' is a small hosta distinguished by its green leaves with creamy white, flat margins. The foliage is dull on both surfaces, with rounded bases, and each leaf measures 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) long by 3 inches (7.6 cm) wide, bearing seven to eight pairs of veins.
In the Garden
This compact cultivar reaches a mature size typical of small hostas, making it well suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is standard for the genus, and pairs effectively with other small shade perennials such as ferns, heucheras, or miniature hostas. Its tidy habit and variegated foliage provide consistent texture in shaded settings.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, particularly during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Heavenly Tiara' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate deterrents should be considered in areas where these pests are prevalent.
