Overview

Registered in 2011 by breeder HarkAway, this miniature hosta forms dense, fast-growing clumps distinguished by its green leaves with golden yellow margins. The ovate leaves, measuring 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) long and 1.6 inches (4.1 cm) wide, feature slightly rippled margins, a dull upper surface, and a slightly shiny underside, with three vein pairs and moderate folding.

'HarkAway's Mini Gold' is well-suited for shaded borders, rock gardens, or container culture, where its compact dimensions—15.7 inches (39.9 cm) in diameter and 5.9 inches (15.0 cm) in height—allow it to serve as a foreground or edging plant. It tolerates more sun than many hostas, though it performs best in partial shade with consistent moisture. Pair with small ferns, heucheras, or miniature sedges for textural contrast. Its modest size and rhizomatous growth habit make it an excellent choice for troughs or mixed miniature planters.

Care Notes
