Overview
Registered in 2000, *Hosta* 'Halcyon Harmony' is a miniature hybrid derived from *Hosta* 'Halcyon'. It forms a compact mound 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) high and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter, distinguished by its narrow, lance-shaped leaves of medium blue-green with a pronounced glaucous bloom on both surfaces. The leaves measure 4.25 inches (10.8 cm) long and 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) wide, with flat margins, 5 to 6 vein pairs, and a tapered base.
In the Garden
This miniature hosta is best suited to partial to full shade, where its blue-green foliage retains its glaucous coloration. With a moderate growth rate, it reaches a mature spread of approximately 20 inches (50.8 cm) and a height of 3.5 inches (8.9 cm), making it appropriate for the front of borders, rock gardens, or troughs. It pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas, and is well adapted to container cultivation given its compact dimensions. Green scapes rise 12 to 15 inches (30.5 to 38.1 cm) above the foliage.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during establishment and throughout the growing season; apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, particularly in shaded, moist sites.
