Overview
Registered in 1976 by F. Shaw and P. Aden, *Hosta* 'Green Wedge' is a large, variegated cultivar distinguished by its deep green leaf margins and elongated, wedge-shaped leaves. The foliage reaches 18 inches (45.7 cm) in length and 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) in width, with 18 pairs of veins, forming a dense mound.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a substantial clump 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height, making it suitable for mid-border or groundcover positions in partial to full shade. Its large leaves pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. The scape rises to 48 inches (121.9 cm), bearing pale lavender flowers in midsummer.
