A sport of *Hosta* 'Blue Ivory', registered in 2011, 'Green Ivory' is a small, upright hosta distinguished by dark green leaves with white, flat margins. The broadly ovate leaves, measuring 4.7 inches (11.9 cm) long and 2.75 inches (7.0 cm) wide, feature eight vein pairs and a slightly shiny upper surface with a dull underside.

In the Garden

Reaching a mature diameter of 15.7 inches (39.9 cm) and height of 9.8 inches (24.9 cm), 'Green Ivory' is suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hostas, and its moderate growth rate makes it manageable in mixed perennial plantings. The white-margined leaves pair well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season; apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. The cultivar is noted for slug resistance, though standard deer deterrents may still be necessary in areas with heavy browsing pressure.
