Overview

Registered in 1990 by H. & D. Benedict, this miniature hosta is a selfed seedling of *Hosta* 'Kabitan'. 'Green Eyes' is visually distinctive for its creamy white leaf centers bordered by narrow, undulating dark green margins, a color pattern that reverses the typical green-center, white-margin arrangement.

In the Garden

With a mature spread of 8 inches (20.3 cm) and height of 3 inches (7.6 cm), 'Green Eyes' is suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or troughs. Its small size and compact habit make it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for miniature hostas, and pairs well with other small shade perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Green Eyes' may be damaged by slugs and deer; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
