Overview
Registered in 1987 by R. Benedict, this miniature hosta arose from a self-cross of *H.* 'Neat Splash'. The cultivar is visually distinctive for its reversed coloration: narrow, green leaf margins surround a broad white central area, a pattern opposite to the typical variegated hosta.
In the Garden
Reaching only 2 inches (5.1 cm) in height and 8 inches (20.3 cm) in diameter at maturity, 'Goody Goody' is suited to the front of a shaded border, rock garden, or trough container. It performs best in partial to full shade and combines well with other diminutive perennials such as miniature ferns or *Saxifraga*. Its compact size makes it an excellent candidate for container culture.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage; protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
