Overview

Registered in 1986 by Kuk's Forest Nursery, this miniature cultivar derived from *Hosta* 'Kabitan' forms a compact mound of green leaves with deep yellow margins. The foliage is notably bicolored, with dull upper surfaces and shiny undersides, reaching only 2.5 inches in length with four vein pairs.

In the Garden

Mature plants reach approximately 5 inches in diameter and 4 inches in height, with scapes extending up to 12 inches. This miniature hosta performs best in partial to full shade, suiting rock gardens, trough plantings, or the front of shaded borders. Its small size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation, where it can be paired with other diminutive woodland perennials such as small ferns or *Heuchera* cultivars.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during active growth, applying a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring. Like most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage, requiring protective measures in areas where these pests are prevalent.
